In 2009 the Mason Dixon Riding Association kicked off their 4th season of racing here in the Mid Atlantic / North East region. This series began almost out of necessity and has grown to be one of the best attended race series in the area. In 2009 the series added a new venue in Budds Creek much to the delight of the series participants. Each year it seems more factory contingencies are added and the main sponsor continues to be industry giant Tucker Rocky Distributing the parent company to the MSR, Answer and Pro Taper brands. From the horrific mud of Budds Creek way back in Mid March to the beautiful fall day at Happy Ramblers in late September the series clicked on and you the faithful kept coming back. I believe someone once said "build it and they will come" Well, thats exactly what the tracks and promoters from the MDRA have done. The next few pages are a tribute to all that attend!!
The 50's
Young Chase Yentzer set the pace at Round # 1 at Budds Creek in the mud. Chase would go on to win the 50 (4-6) oil division while finishing second in the Stock class. Chase added a third place podium finish to his resume at Loretta Lynn's this season in the (4-6) shaft division.
Some of Yentzer's biggest competition came in the form of (4-6) Stock Champion Cameron Davis (94) and the (11) of Andrew Brodbeck at the limited rounds he attended. Both racers also finished well at the LL Nationals.
Here the 50cc Stock (7-8) group leaves the gate at Tomahawk in late April. Colton Yentzer (63) would finish 5th overall on the year in this division.
Caleb Keck (45) leads the charge at Sleepy Hollow in June in the 50cc (7-8) Stock division. Keck would go on to win the championship with the (211) of Jason Neidigh grabbing second on the year. Taner Triggs (602) and Jordan Jarvis (663) would finish third and fourth respectively in the series.
Jacob Moose wins the 50 (7-8) Oil Injected division by finishing consistent all year.

Before we begin to recognize the 50cc racers of this series I would like to let them all know how great they did this year. Out of around 100 kids that partcicpated in the series, 12 of you qualified for the amateur national at Loretta Lynns, thats 10 %. Thats fantastic !! To the rest of you, keep on riding and practicing and believing in yourselves. Make sure you do your school work and be a good kid. You are all winners in my book.
